About the artist
Vikas Maitreya has been immersed in Carnatic music since childhood, giving his first concert at the age of fifteen. Today he is one of Hyderabad's emerging vocalists and a regular concert performer, with numerous kutcheris across the twin cities to his name.
He began his training under Sri Mantha Srinivas garu, and currently continues his tutelage under two revered masters — Neyveli Sri R. Santhanagopalan and Sri D. Raghavachary, the eldest of the celebrated Hyderabad Brothers.
A passionate teacher and a firm believer in promoting the classical arts, Vikas actively organises and participates in music events including the Sri Tyagaraja Swamy Aradhana seva — and every year, his family hosts a one-of-a-kind Muttuswami Dikshitar Aradhana at their residence.
An active volunteer with The Art of Living and a meditation practitioner, Vikas takes part regularly in satsangs and bhajans. Beyond music, he works in talent acquisition at Deloitte USI, follows tennis avidly, and occasionally writes on spirituality, philosophy and life.
